About Learning Wake

Built in a Classroom. For Every Classroom.

Learning Wake wasn’t designed by a product team in a tech office. It was built by a teacher who got tired of watching students fall through the cracks of a spreadsheet.

The Problem I Couldn’t Stop Thinking About

After more than 20 years teaching CTE and Science at the high school level, I’d seen the same thing play out hundreds of times. A multi-week project assigned. Students nod along. Then three days before the deadline, you find out half the class never started.

The tools available to me were built for content delivery — not project accountability. Google Classroom is great for assignments. But there was nothing that gave me a real-time view of where every single student stood on a multi-step project, right now, without chasing them down individually.

So I started tracking everything in spreadsheets. Color-coded rows. Manual updates. Columns for each task. It worked — barely — and it took forever. Every time I updated it I thought: there has to be a better way.

Eventually I decided to build it myself. Not because I had a background in software — but because I knew exactly what a teacher actually needed, and I was tired of waiting for someone else to build it.

Learning Wake is the tool I wished existed when I started teaching. Every feature comes from a real classroom problem. Every decision gets filtered through one question: does this make a teacher’s job easier?

What Learning Wake Stands For

👩‍🏫

Teacher-First Design

Every feature starts with a real classroom problem. If it doesn’t make a teacher’s day easier, it doesn’t ship.
